Chapter 7 The People's Magical Girl
Chapter 7 The People's Magical Girl
"Knock knock knock".
A crisp knock sounded, and a woman wearing black stilettos and a fitted business pencil skirt pushed the door open and entered.
"Chief, you have a visitor."
The guard looked up from the mountain of reports, wearily rubbing his temples. "Who? I don't have any appointments on my schedule today, do I?"
"She's a wild magical girl who just came to register. Her code name is..." The woman adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses, then opened the folder in her hand, "...【The Dark Side of the Moon】."
The guard paused, the image of the gothic Lolita girl holding a lace parasol from yesterday flashing through her mind. She nodded thoughtfully, "It's her. Bring her up."
The woman responded and was about to turn around when she was stopped by the guards.
"By the way, has she finished her placement test? Did she get a C grade?"
The woman turned around, and a strange expression appeared on her usually expressionless face.
She silently pulled an A4 sheet of paper from the folder and handed it to the desk.
"Director, you should see for yourself."
The reception room on the first floor of the Haicheng branch of the Magical Girl Management Bureau.
Chu Sheng, who had transformed into Lilith's form, was sprawled on the sofa without any regard for his image. His eyes were lifeless, and his two originally fluffy and cute silver twin tails were now a mess, like a bird's nest. His slender legs, wrapped in black stockings, were still twitching wildly.
"Your mom didn't say there would be a physical fitness test for registration!"
She originally planned to come in a suit, fill out a form to get acquainted with the group, and then go find the guards to inquire about the core of the magical beast, and also ask if any magical girls had ever broken their contracts.
Who would have thought!
She had just finished signing at the front desk when two female staff members grabbed her from both sides and dragged her into an underground training ground the size of a football field!
It's supposed to be a five-dimensional physical and magical threshold assessment test.
The staff member explained that each magical girl undergoes a rating process after registration, based on a five-dimensional chart of the test results. The five dimensions are strength, defense, speed, stamina, and magic power.
The testing method is also very simple: for strength, you punch the force measuring machine with your bare hands; for defense, you are punched by the force measuring machine with your bare hands.
Chu Shengjiao shouted and swung her fair arm to deliver a soft, fluffy punch, which didn't even shake the force measuring machine.
Then she saw the wooden stake-like force measuring machine suddenly spring open, and a thick hydraulic mechanical arm shot out with afterimages!
"Bang!"
A single blow to the abdomen sent her flying three or four meters before she crashed to the ground with a thud.
Her eyes rolled back and she foamed at the mouth.
But that wasn't all. Two young women from the medical team rushed up, shoved a pill into her mouth, and forcibly carried her onto the rubber track.
Long-distance running tests endurance!
Chu Sheng had never suffered such humiliation in his life. After running two or three laps, his legs began to tremble. In the end, he clung tightly to the black-stockinged thigh of the female proctor next to him and refused to move no matter what.
She cried, tears streaming down her face, "Sister... dear sister, I really can't run anymore!"
Next was the speed test, specifically the flight speed.
When the pair of cute little wings on Chu Sheng's back popped out, she swore she saw the female employee couldn't help but laugh.
What a shame!
Finally, it was time to test her magic power. But she was already exhausted. She shakily raised her little parasol, her face flushed red, and barely managed to shoot out a weak, lifeless ray of light about the thickness of her little finger from the tip of the parasol before everything went black and she fainted.
Before she fainted, she vaguely heard several female employees gasp in shock: "How can a magical girl not even pass the physical fitness test?"
Damn, I'm actually this weak.
When Chu Sheng opened his eyes again, he had been thrown back onto the sofa in the reception room.
"Damn it, I yelled 'No, no, no!' but he still dragged me away." She muttered through gritted teeth, reaching out to rub her slender waist.
"Using extreme pressure to force out the true thresholds of various indicators is a standardized procedure stipulated by the General Administration. Please understand."
A cold, flat female voice suddenly rang out from behind.
"Holy crap!" Chu Sheng jumped up in fright, his two ponytails bouncing in the air.
Turning around, he saw an office lady in a business suit and gold-rimmed glasses standing behind the sofa, clearly having heard everything he had just said.
"I was just venting a little," Chu Sheng said awkwardly with a laugh. "Don't take it to heart, sister. We're all sisters, let's be understanding of each other~"
"The director is already waiting for you." The bespectacled office lady ignored his attempt to get close, raised her wrist and glanced at her women's watch. "[Dark Side of the Moon], the director's schedule is very full. You only have ten minutes for the meeting. Please come with me."
Chu Sheng was disappointed, pursed his lips, and followed her into the elevator.
The Haicheng branch police station building, standing in the city center, occupies a vast area, with the director's office occupying the top floor. Chu Sheng glanced at the numbers on the elevator buttons and secretly clicked his tongue in amazement.
Goodness, ninety-nine floors!
How much must they have embezzled!
"bite."
The elevator doors slid open to the sides, revealing a dimly lit corridor with only two rows of futuristic blue light strips illuminating the sides of the floor.
Chu Sheng followed behind the bespectacled office lady, looking around. The glass display walls on both sides of the corridor were filled with all kinds of medals and banners.
He leaned closer for a look. Some of the medals were ornately designed, shimmering with gold, and the base was engraved with the words: "[Best Magical Girl of 202X - Special Commendation from the Headquarters of the Magical Girl Administration]".
However, right next to this pure gold medal hung a crudely made red banner with yellow tassels, the kind you could buy for a few dozen yuan at a printing shop.
It had eight large characters printed on it: "Thank you, Imperial Guards! You saved my life!"
The signature is Zhang Cuimei from Haicheng South District.
Medals and banners like these are simply placed together haphazardly along this long corridor, without any discernible pattern of categorization or order.
"These two walls display all the honors the director has received since taking office."
The bespectacled office lady walking ahead suddenly stopped. She turned around and adjusted her reflective gold-rimmed glasses.
Chu Sheng noticed that there was a hint of pride in the tone of this woman who was originally cold.
"Whether it's the highest commendation issued by headquarters or the banners presented by the citizens of Haicheng, the director hangs them all here equally."
"The director said that every day when she steps out of the elevator to go to her office, or leaves this place after get off work, these things remind her of the responsibilities she should bear."
The secretary gave Chu Sheng a deep look and said firmly:
"The Director is an official magical girl under the jurisdiction of the Bureau. But at the same time, she is also the magical girl of Haicheng, and even more so, the magical girl of the people!"
