Chapter 51 How did you get in?!
Terra: "I remember when I first entered the world, I didn't have the concept of a spawn point. Then I saw a very big and tall tree with a passage in the trunk that led deep underground. There was also a small room next to the passage. I just moved into that room. But every time I died, I had to walk a long way home. Now I just build a house right at the spawn point."
Wendy tilted her head: "Build your own house?"
"Don't try to understand Terra's words." Andrea 2 recalled the Terra base.
"Huh? Hmm." Wendy then lowered her head, staring at Andrea 2's toes. "Um, Andrea 2, are you really going to stay in the same hotel as me? The rooms here aren't actually that... nice."
Andrea2 said, "Don't worry about it, I've even lived in a frame that's drafty on both sides."
"A frame?" Wendy tilted her head.
"It's okay, you don't need to understand, just pretend I'm talking to myself." Andrea 2 covered her face.
Andrea 2 followed Wendy into the inn. Out of politeness, Wendy greeted the innkeeper sitting behind the counter. The innkeeper looked up and waved back. Then he saw a female elf following behind Wendy.
His face showed excitement. He rubbed the sweat from his hands, stood up straight, and asked, "Are you here to stay? Do you need a single room?"
Andrea 2 stood with one hand on her hip, staring at the boss, making the boss seem a little flustered.
Then the boss saw the elf turn around and look at something. After a while, he turned his head and stared at the price list behind him.
The shop owner's throat bobbed as he wondered where he had gone wrong. He realized he must still think his shop was too shabby, especially considering the neighborhood.
"A private room."
Andrea 2 handed over a silver coin, and the shopkeeper wiped his sweat, gave Andrea 2 the extra money, along with the key and the token.
Andrea 2 took the sign, glanced at it a few times, and then went upstairs.
The boss let out a sigh of relief.
As Wendy was about to follow, the boss waved her over.
"What's wrong, boss?"
"How did you come to know the fairy? Is she really your mother?" The boss had already heard the commotion outside. He had initially thought the painter's description of the fairy was just a metaphor.
"Oh? No! I was just saying that offhand."
*
"Phew~"
Andrea 2 and the others breathed a slight sigh of relief after reaching the corner of the stairs and no longer seeing the boss.
This was her first time visiting a hotel.
Previously, she lived in the block house that Terra built outside.
It took me a long time to figure out what the single room and the sign in my hand meant...
Andrea 2 covered her face.
Hopefully, the boss won't secretly think she's a country bumpkin.
"What's wrong, Andrea 2?" Wendy asked, tilting her head as she followed behind Andrea 2.
"Ahem, it's nothing, let's go upstairs."
"Um, what about Mr. Terra? And that conman..." Wendy asked.
"The two of them..." Andrea 2 was about to answer.
The two women were in the stairwell on the second floor. Through the window, they could see Terra outside the hotel wall, at eye level with them.
He also saw the two people inside the building, with smiley face bubbles popping up above their heads.
Terra then continued to place blocks under her feet and jump upwards.
Wendy's eyes sparkled. This must be magic! Mr. Terra is amazing! But, "Miss Andrea 2, what is Mr. Terra doing?"
Andrea 2 glanced at the townspeople outside the inn; they all stared wide-eyed at Terra.
Andrea 2 saw someone on the street looking up at her, so she quickly pulled her head back.
"Well... let's go upstairs first..."
As soon as the two went up to the third floor of the hotel, they were greeted by a straight corridor with parallel rooms on both sides.
The wooden floorboards underfoot are old and creak when you step on them.
As Andrea 2 and Wendy walked inside, they heard screams coming from a room behind them.
A woman's voice shouted, "How did you get in?"
Then a male voice said, "Wait, this guy is quite famous among the adventurers in this town. I heard he caused quite a stir in the black market before. Let's not mess with him."
Then, there was a beeping sound.
Andrea 2 and Wendy saw spiderweb cracks appear on the wall of the room from which the sound came, followed by a square hole in the wall.
Terra came out from inside.
Behind Terra, the two people were being observed by the couple who had invaded the room.
Andrea 2 quickly pulled up her hood.
"What is Mr. Terra doing?" This scene was completely unexpected for Wendy.
"You'll get used to it, okay?" Andrea 2 comforted Wendy.
"Where's that conman? Mr. Terra, you let him go?"
"No, I just casually assigned him to a room in this building."
"Is that so?" Wendy patted her chest and belly, took out her key and opened the door to her room. "There's nothing in my room, please don't mind."
Then, Wendy turned her head and saw a familiar figure standing in her room.
It's that fraudulent painter from earlier.
"How did you get in here!"
The painter was even more surprised; he had been standing on the street when he saw the blocky man stacking himself high with strange blocks.
Thinking that the other party had let him go, he quickly turned around, grabbed his easel and paints from the street corner, and ran outside.
He had already run almost two blocks when the scenery suddenly changed, and he found himself in this room.
"This is the room I assigned him," Terra said to Wendy. "You can do it too. Just open the room search function and put the little red flag with the NPC's portrait on the wall of the room."
Wendy said, "The painter lives here, where am I supposed to live?"
"It's okay, an NPC has occupied a house, you can continue to live there." Terra's head popped up with a smiley face bubble, and she started telling Wendy about her time as a newbie.
"When I first built a house, I saw the guide move in. I felt both unhappy and happy. I was unhappy because I thought, 'This is my house, how come an NPC like you is moving in?' But I was happy because I didn't know that NPCs could live in the houses they built. How interesting."
Terra rattled off a whole bunch of nonsense.
He had originally intended to connect with Wendy, but Wendy just tilted her head and looked at Terra, unable to understand him.
The smiley face bubble above Terra's head popped and disappeared.
"Yeah, that's true. Now the new version of the guide requires you to rescue him from the goblins, so you probably can't feel what I was talking about anymore, Wendy."
"Goblin? Are you talking about those green-skinned monsters? Aren't we talking about this conman? Is this conman painter a goblin?" Wendy thought to herself that "guide" was what Mr. Terra called his older sister Andrea 2.
Andrea 2 turned Wendy's face towards her: "Don't listen to everything Terra says."
Wendy nodded.
The painter retorted, "I'm not!"
Andrea 2 said to Terra, "Let Wendy change rooms, or I'll stay with Wendy."
Terra's head popped out a smiley face bubble, and she tossed a few grains of sand and torches from her backpack. She said to Wendy, "Now, kill the painter NPC so we can have our paintball guns."
