Chapter 18 Successful Portrayal
Chapter 18 Successful Portrayal
The result was the same as before: the box was empty, except for the thick compartments which were bulging as if they contained many unexpected little items.
"What's wrong with you?" Liu Yifei looked at Chun Ge, puzzled, when she saw him stop.
Upon hearing this, Liu Chun smiled and replied, "It's nothing, I just suddenly thought of something. It's alright, I'll take it to the bedroom and put it there."
When the box suddenly appeared in his house, Liu Chun thought that those people would put some strange items in it and do this as a warning to him.
Upon entering the room, Liu Chun quickly approached the door and quietly locked it from the inside.
He then placed the box on the table, opened the window and looked outside. There wasn't a soul in sight, and with the night being so late, it felt utterly deserted.
"Someone must have been in my house, but where are they hiding?"
Looking at the box on the table, Liu Chun suddenly squatted down, turned on his flashlight, and looked under the bed.
At first he did see the shadow of something, but he quickly realized he was overthinking it.
There was no place to hide under the bed except for three large boxes of miscellaneous items piled tightly together; the area was completely empty.
To prove his theory was correct, Liu Chun deliberately moved the three boxes to a different location. In such a confined space, an ordinary person would have been spotted by him.
"Am I wrong again?"
He got up and sat down at the table, feeling that there was someone else in the house besides himself and Liu Yifei, but when he really tried to find them, he couldn't figure out where they were hiding.
"Brother Chun, you're not going to crawl back into bed and fall asleep as soon as I get here, are you? I'm still sitting outside."
Soon, the door to the room opened, and Liu Chun came out: "How could that be? You are Liu Yifei, a goddess in many people's hearts. I just took good care of that box, and now I'm out."
Liu Chun sat on the sofa with Yi Fei, chatting idly and enjoying this rare moment of peace.
After an unknown amount of time, a crisp sound rang out from the depths of my mind—it was the system.
[Ding! Congratulations, host, you have successfully assumed the role of 'Murong Fu'. You may now select your reward.]
"The 'Consort' finger!"
Liu Chun chose it without hesitation. So many unexpected events have happened recently, all thanks to the Canhe Finger provided by Murong Fu. It is similar to using a pistol to fire bullets, and it is also more convenient to carry.
[Participation has been selected!]
[The "Canhe Finger" is a family martial art passed down by Murong Fu in Jin Yong's novel "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils." Its core purpose is to attack an opponent's acupoints or vital points from a distance, using internal energy to generate invisible force to subdue the enemy from afar.]
[We wish you a pleasant experience using this device!]
"Hmm." Liu Chun quickly realized something and hurriedly asked, "No, what's my next role?"
After a long silence, the system no longer made any sounds, nor did it provide any light screen panel; it was very quiet.
When Liu Yifei heard his question, she thought that Chun Ge was asking about her, so she smiled and said, "Chun Ge still wants to act, huh? How about this, I can help you look around in the industry, and I'll let you know when I have the results. You just need to prepare for the role."
Liu Chun smiled awkwardly at Liu Yifei: "Then we'll see if there's a suitable role for me to play. Of course, you don't have to find one for me right now; I have filming tomorrow."
"you?"
"It wasn't me."
"Then why are you in such a hurry?"
Liu Yifei put down the phone she had just picked up: "Don't worry, I won't find one for you right away. You should think about when you're ready to take on a role."
"That's true."
After a long time, Liu Chun took Liu Yifei home and walked alone on the deserted pedestrian street. Besides the mice playing with each other, there were also cats hiding in the shadows. They would immediately dart out to catch the mice as soon as they got close. The cats that had set traps were more likely to catch the mice.
"Wipe, rub, rub..."
A hissing sound came from inside the streetlight overhead, and then the malfunction began to spread from Liu Chun to the surrounding areas. Soon after, all the streetlights around him went out.
"Who's there?"
Liu Chun shouted, and apart from the cats and mice chasing each other stopping, several figures emerged from the shadowy area ahead.
"Did you receive the box we left for you?" the person at the front asked, then took out an ancient artifact from behind him, looking like a martial arts master.
"So that was a gift from you!" Liu Chun was somewhat shocked, but then asked, "You're the helpers for those people in the factory?"
"Yes or no." The man was completely naked in the dim light, wearing the ancient costume he used for filming. His hands were rough, as if he had been secretly practicing martial arts every day.
The other person spoke in a voice straight out of a martial arts drama: "Kid, you've successfully provoked someone you shouldn't have. The only way to get rid of this trouble is death. I hope you'll be more careful in your next life and not be so foolish as to lose your life in vain!"
"So you're... from ancient times, huh?" They were just a few extras hired halfway through the trip, not even professional actors. They thought Liu Chun would believe them just because they were dressed like this.
dream!
"So, you're prepared to die?"
The man bent over, preparing for his attack, while Liu Chun had just received the system reward "Canhe Finger," but all he could use was the Canhe Finger. The system hadn't included any of Murong Fu's martial arts skills as a bonus.
If Liu Chun were to actually fight these oddly dressed guys right now, he would have to aim his Canhe Finger technique precisely before making a move, ensuring a perfect strike.
He didn't speak, nor did he rashly run away. Instead, he waited quietly for the other party to make a move.
"It seems you're ready."
The man opened his eyes and jumped up from the ground with a whoosh, even higher than the average person, as if he were a powerful character from a martial arts drama.
Liu Chun's pupils constricted, and his brows furrowed. Clearly, this outcome had exceeded his expectations.
Later, he had to re-examine who these people were, why they were so determined to hunt him down, and whether the boxes in the factory were really just for storing ancient ornaments.
When the man got close enough, Liu Chun calmly stretched out her finger and pointed at him.
"Go, Sanhe Finger!"
Unexpectedly, the opponent reacted quickly, spinning in mid-air to dodge the attack without changing their speed or attack posture.
"Damn it!"
With a ferocious expression, Liu Chun could only reach out and grab the opponent's halberd, which seemed about to break, when he was unable to dodge effectively in time.
Upon closer inspection, the seemingly antique and dilapidated artifact turned out to be even harder than he had imagined. Moreover, the man wielding the gun possessed tremendous explosive power; a single ordinary strike seemed to unleash all his strength, otherwise Liu Chun could have easily killed him.
"You've got some strength, kid, but that's about it."
The next second, the man spun the halberd with force, and Liu Chun's tightly gripped halberd slipped from his hand and pierced into the clothes on his left side.
"Sizzle!"
The man forcefully pulled out the halberd, and Liu Chun's clothes below his right shoulder tore instantly, with blood seeping out from the spot where the halberd had just slashed.
The man's fighting strength is astonishing!
"I'm someone you'll never reach, kid. Just accept your fate!"
