Chapter 1175 - 1171: About to Lose Favor
Chapter 1175 - 1171: About to Lose Favor
"Where’s Luke Land?" Eva Miller’s eyes scanned the room anxiously."Young Madam, the Second Young Master has already gone to the company." The speaker was the maid who had accompanied her out today.
Gone to the company?
Eva looked incredulously at the maid, then spoke with difficulty, "Did he come here today?"
"He did, but he only stayed here for an hour before leaving." The maid had a faint smile on her lips, and she felt a secret delight in her heart. It seemed that the Young Madam was about to fall out of favor. Without the Young Master’s pampering, let’s see how she continues her arrogance in front of the servants.
Eva couldn’t define what she was feeling inside now. She was very annoyed and suffocated, so she lay back on the bed and pulled the quilt over her head.
...
Eva stayed in the hospital for three days, and when she was discharged, it was the Land Family’s driver and butler who came to pick her up.
"I say, Young Madam, how could you be so careless?" The butler said earnestly, "The Second Young Master had been longing for this child for so long, and now it’s just gone..."
In the eyes of these servants, Luke Land certainly had a hundred percent anticipation for this child.
Eva didn’t speak, sitting sullenly in the back seat of the car, turning her head to look out the window, her eyes slightly moist.
"Luke Land, you bastard..."
It wasn’t on purpose, but he treated her like this?
She had been in the hospital for three days, and he hadn’t come to see her even once. She was going home, and he didn’t come to pick her up. How could he shamelessly say he loved her?
Eva felt very wronged in her heart.
When she got home, she wanted to confront Luke Land, but found that he wasn’t even there.
"Where’s Luke Land? Where did he go?" she asked the maids who were cleaning the living room.
"Don’t know." The maids replied coldly, indifferently. This Young Madam was about to fall out of favor anyway, so they didn’t need to endure in front of her anymore.
She walked back into the room, slammed the door shut, creating a loud noise.
"Why so arrogant still? I reckon the Second Young Master will divorce her in a few days," a maid said.
"Yeah, the Young Master treated her well usually, but she didn’t see it. Now, when he’s about to dump her, she’s acting all pitiful here."
...
Eva waited from day to night, but still didn’t wait for Luke Land to come back. She... wanted to give him an explanation.
She closed her eyes but couldn’t fall asleep no matter what.
Around two in the morning, Eva heard some noise outside the master bedroom. She could even feel Luke Land had walked to the door, but... he just didn’t push the door open and come in.
She still held a little hope in her heart. She thought, if he came in now, she would immediately explain to him.
But in the end, she was still disappointed. She heard his footsteps slowly walking away.
She didn’t think much; she got out of bed, opened the door, and shouted in the direction he was leaving.
"Luke Land!"
His steps stopped, seemingly hesitating for a moment before he regained his senses.
The moment their eyes met, it felt as if the whole world had paused for a second.
"What’s the matter?" he spoke indifferently, and the cold, rigid tone made Eva inexplicably sad in her heart.
"Where have you been these past few days?" she asked.
"At the company. There’s been a lot going on at work lately."
