Chapter 1151: Have Your Cousin Come to Nathan Bennett for the Money
"Bella? What’s wrong?"After not hearing a response for a long time, Mason Bennett asked with some nervousness.
Bella Green bit the tip of her tongue hard, suppressing her excited emotions.
"Mason, my cousin’s parents have encountered some trouble, could you lend a hand?"
Bella Green clearly heard the man’s chaotic breathing, and her heart grew heavier and heavier.
"Your cousin? She called you?"
Hearing that tense voice, Bella Green suddenly pulled her lips into a smile and chuckled lightly.
"No, I saw her at the entrance of Dragondale and asked, then found out her mom lost a lot gambling. Can you help?"
Mason Bennett was silent for a moment before speaking.
"You want me to lend them money?"
Bella Green’s eyes grew increasingly blurry, yet her smile grew wider: "Yes, five million, Xylia can’t come up with it, can you help?"
"Sure, but five million is no small amount."
"Do you need time?"
"Yes, have your cousin come to Nathan Bennett to collect the money."
Bella Green’s grip on her phone tightened as she continued: "I’ll go pick it up."
"Aren’t you supposed to return to the crew? Don’t trouble yourself." Mason Bennett said.
Bella Green stood dazed by the roadside, looking at the traffic in front, a bit confused.
Mason Bennett’s words were flawless, and if it hadn’t been for Xylia’s comments, she might not have noticed anything amiss.
"She’s not in a good state, I’m staying with her, should I let Leo go over?"
Mason Bennett paused for a moment and continued: "I’ll have Elliot Morris handle it."
"Okay." Bella Green finished speaking and hung up the call directly.
The smile on her face faded away accordingly.
Right after hanging up, Leo Foster approached.
"Is it resolved? How did it go?"
Bella Green turned her head to look at Leo Foster, momentarily unable to collect herself.
Leo Foster noticed something was off and asked in confusion: "What’s wrong? Is the situation hard to resolve? Should we call Mr. Bennett?"
Bella Green shook her head: "No, it’s already resolved, let’s go."
...
In just ten minutes, the bald man received a call, and then cheerfully released the people.
And the promissory note was destroyed along with it.
Both Lily Johnson and David Xandrell were still in a daze even after stepping out the door.
They could never have imagined that in one moment they owed a huge debt with lives at risk, and in the next everything cleared up as if nothing happened.
Only after breathing the fresh air outside and seeing the bustling traffic did Lily Johnson fully come to her senses.
"We, we’ve been released? Don’t have to repay the debt?"
She murmured.
David Xandrell also felt the whole ordeal was exceedingly perilous, as if walking through the gates of hell.
Xylia Xandrell still wore a cold expression.
"Mom, if this happens again, your daughter will truly be sold off, could you please stop gambling?"
Xylia Xandrell said with reddened eyes.
Lily Johnson was startled by her daughter’s shout, then awkwardly forced a smile.
Xylia Xandrell didn’t expect her mother to heed and chose to ignore her, turning to the roadside to hail a cab.
Lily Johnson quickly caught up, grabbed her hand with some urgency and asked.
"Xylia, you and Bella just spoke, do you know her fiancé?"
Seeing the calculation and greed in Lily Johnson’s eyes, Xylia Xandrell felt exhausted, freeing her hand and said weakly.
"I don’t know him."
Even if she denied it, Lily Johnson clearly heard the conversation between her and Bella Green. How could she possibly believe otherwise?
